My Rustaveli - Essay Contest for Students

  • Students from any Georgian university are eligible to take part.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia announces the essay contest for students #MyRustaveli.

Themes of the essays:

  • Two royal families, two stories – equality on examples of Arabia and India
  • Individual as a main value in the “Knight in the Panther’s Skin”
  • Avtandil and Phatman – from denial to respect
  • Friendship between a man and a woman in the “Knight in the Panther’s Skin”

Selection Criteria

  • Original approach to the issue
  • Context of the problem
  • Analysis and argumentation
  • Writing skills

Conditions:

  • Essays should not exceed 3,000 words
  • Submission deadline: 10th of May 2016

Prizes:

Three winners of the contest will be given opportunity to undertake short-term paid apprenticeship at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia and the Gender Equality Project of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Georgia.
