Practice of the UN Committee on the PWDs and the European Court of Human Rights on the PWDs

In the modern sense of international law, the protection of the rights and interests of persons with disabilities is achieved through a human rights-based approach. Persons with disabilities are not the object of care, but the bearers of rights.

Protection and realization of rights cannot be achieved only by the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the adoption of national legislation.

Introducing the practice of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) on the rights of persons with disabilities to be used by practitioners to promote the effective protection and effective realization of their rights in Georgia.
