Time to care: Unpaid work and gender inequality in Georgia
26 December 2022
Women spend three times longer on unpaid work than men globally. As a result, they suffer from time poverty, have less time to engage in paid labour, or take advantage of career or personal development opportunities.
Using the 2020-2021 Georgia Time Use Survey data, this research paper employs several data analysis techniques to explore the relationship between unpaid care work and labour force participation, time poverty and work-life balance and their determinants. The publication was prepared within the framework of the UN Women implemented project “Good Governance for Gender Equality in Georgia” supported by the Government of Norway and UN Women’s flagship programme - „Making Every Women and Girl Count“.
