Easily-to-read Election-related Materials for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities
28 March 2025

With the efforts of the Georgian Down Syndrome Association and the support of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), easy-to-read materials have been created for persons with intellectual disabilities. These guides inform readers about their right to participate in elections and how to protect that right.
The easy-to-read materials explain why participating in elections is important, describe the voting procedure, outline the rules for casting and counting votes, and present the mechanisms that ensure transparency and fairness in the process.
